The main character, Kira, said "You'll have to trust my father and I, which I hope won't be too difficult for you." I am pretty sure that the "You'll have to trust my father and I" part of the sentence is grammatically incorrect. English is an SVO language, so "You" is the subject, "trust" is the verb, and "my father and I" are the objects.
English is a subject-verb-object language, and the object form of the pronoun "I" is "me". Try to remember that English is a subject-verb-object (SVO) language, something that the writers of this anime series forgot or never learned. If the Naruto-addled minds behind the English version of this show would have known this, then they would have made the dialog more true to the character. Kira (AKA Light), the main character, is a high school senior when he said that line. Light Yagumi(?) is expressed as a top-of-the-class honors student who is knowledgeable and intelligent. It is counter to his character for him to make that grammatical mistake.
The line "You'll have to trust my father and I [sic]" should have been "You'll have to trust my father and me". You will have to trust whom? "You will have to trust me", not "You will have to trust I". I guess it is a common mistake in English for someone to say "Me and him [or person's name] are going to . . ." where it should be the subject forms instead: "He and I are going to . . ." Perhaps the latter sounds more "intelligent" or "well-spoken", but if you use the "He and I" ("[subject form] and [subject form]" construct) in the object area of the sentence then you fail.
