The IRC is up and fine, but it might as well be dead. Nothing worthwhile has happened there in ages beyond the regularly scheduled bestiality links and weird Indian posting.
Meltingwax can be found on Rizon IRC and on Discord, it's not too hard to track down his Discord handle.
