Why? The original animated short feature by Patrick Jean was a clever and original homage to the 8-Bit era, and expanding this into a full blockbuster movie extolling what made those classic games classics, and what we lost with the current generation of casual games, can only be a good thing, bound to go down in cineastic history as one of the timeless greats.

I have very high hopes for this movie, and am looking forward to seeing the world destroyed in bright, cheerful colours.
